$1000 Trophy fee for blood drawn on Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer, Black bear and Wolf while on a Elk hunt.

(Deer fee excluded while on Cow Elk/Deer combo hunt) 

These rates reflect guiding, most meals and lodging. As part of the service, we include animal field care and extraction, transportation of client from lodging to field and back, as well as transportation of trophy to taxidermist and meat to processor. Processing of meat is mandatory and client’s financial responsibility. Trophy travel preparation by local taxidermist is also mandatory and client’s financial responsibility, if client wishes to transport.

 

All tags/licenses, travel to Livingston, MT, and guide gratuities are also client’s responsibility. 

Meals

After our morning hunt, a hearty, home-cooked Brunch is prepared and served along with a home cooked meal for dinner. Plenty of snacks and drinks are provided for down-time in the afternoons between our morning and evening hunts.

If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance so we can do our best to accommodate.

Guides

We utilize top notch local guides that have a true understanding of terrain, species and creating a positive client experience.

Transportation

We utilize side by side utility vehicles, 4x4 pickups, foot,

and seasoned livestock during the hunt.

Tag Application Deadlines

Elk/Deer hunts take place in general draw regions 314 & 393. 

The application deadline is April 1st.

Mountain Goat hunts take place in unit 313 & 314.

The application deadline is May 1st.

Antelope hunts take place in unit 900-20 for archery and 338-20 for rifle. 

The application deadline is June 1st. 

Backcountry Hunting Permits

SJ Outfitters operates under special use permits in the Custer Gallatin National Forest for back country hunts.

Additional Information

Deposit/Refund Policy:

SJ Outfitters requires deposit (half of hunt fee) to solidify intended dates. First come, first serve. Booking well in advance is recommended due to availability. Your deposit is Non-Refundable. In the event client does not obtain a license, SJ Outfitters will hold your deposit for a future date. Clients are responsible for licensing and tags in all circumstances.

Wound Policy:

If you draw blood on an animal you are done hunting that species.

Payment Terms:

We accept cash, personal check, cashiers check, or credit card (there is a 4% processing fee for all credit card payments).

Prices include meals, comfortable lodging, and a professional guide. Lodging varies and ranges from cabin camps to wall tents and campers. We move where the game moves.

Prices DO NOT include hunting licenses (tags), client travel, meat processing, taxidermy or gratuities (standard gratuities for guides are 15% and for cooks are  5%).
